How it works
This email attachment PDF size compressor shrinks a heavy PDF in your browser so it will actually attach. There is no Acrobat subscription and no upload to a generic PDF compressor site. Embedded photos and scans are re-encoded as JPEG at a safer resolution, then you download an email-ready file.
- Drop a PDF — processing stays on your device, which matters for contracts and invoices.
- Pick an attachment preset — corporate email 10MB, Naver Mail 20MB, Gmail 25MB, or KakaoTalk 20MB. The result tells you whether the file is under the limit.
- Use the compression slider — five steps from quality-first to maximum diet. If the file is still over the target, the tool retries one step stronger automatically.
- Download — compare original vs compressed size, page count, and how many images were recompressed.
Most “free PDF compress” websites send the document to a server. This tool uses pdf-lib locally, downsamples image XObjects, and clears metadata. Text-only office PDFs are often already small, so savings may be modest. Oversized attachments are usually high-resolution scans or slide decks full of photos.
FAQ
Why does my email reject the PDF?
Many company mail servers cap attachments at 10MB. Naver Mail is often around 20MB and Gmail around 25MB. Choose the matching preset to see if the compressed file will attach. If it is still over, move the slider toward size.
KakaoTalk will not send my PDF
KakaoTalk file sends also fail around 20MB in daily use. Run the KakaoTalk 20MB preset before you share.
Can I still copy the text?
Text objects are left in place. Only images are rewritten as JPEG. Text that lives inside a scan was never selectable.
What about password-protected PDFs?
Encrypted files may fail to open in the browser. Unlock a copy first, then drop it here.
Will the quality look bad?
Levels 1–2 keep enough detail for email review. If stamps, signatures, or tiny type matter, start lighter and only go stronger when the limit still blocks the attach button.
